Route description: Please contact us directly if you wish to book a tour and we will send you the sign-up link. Info@runthesights.co.uk This tour takes in The Scott Monument before jumping across Princes Street towards George Street; one of Edinburgh’s most prestigious streets and home to some of the city’s finest restaurants and shops. We drop down into typical New Town cobbled streets and make our way towards the rather prestigious area of Stockbridge; which brings with it a village feel. From here we will leave the city buildings behind and join the tranquil Water of Leith. We will meander along the Water of Leith, travelling through the pretty Dean Village. If we are lucky we may spot one of the local herons perched patiently on the banks awaiting his lunch. Eventually we’ll emerge at Roseburn whereupon we will join the city streets again. From here we pass the former Donaldson’s School for the deaf; a truly magnificent building. We will traverse along some of the side streets, flanked by some of Edinburgh’s most affluent flats. The tour brings us out at the West End of the City Centre and climbs up Johnston Terrace, whereupon we will see the imposing and mesmerising Edinburgh Castle perched above us. A simple hop skip and a jump will bring us out onto the Esplanade to see Edinburgh Castle in all it’s glory, before dropping back down towards Waverley Bridge.
